In this review I take a look at the Retroid Pocket 2+, the successor to the Retroid Pocket 2. On paper, the Retroid Pocket 2+ is actually a pretty big step up from the original model, with, for the most part, only the case and look of the original being retained.
I ordered my Retroid Pocket 2 Plus pretty much on the day the order form went up on Retroid’s website. Roughly two months later it arrived, and boy was I excited to see what this much improved and much more powerful handheld was capable of.
That feeling of excitement soon disappeared.

Please Note: When I do a review it is an honest review of the product that I have in front of me as it is, and not of the product I would like it to be, or as I have heard other people describe it. At this point in time the problems I describe in the video, and the situation with Retroid remain unresolved, despite my numerous messages to them.

Verdict
For a device that I was so much looking forward to, and waited so long to get, this has proven to be a huge waste of money. I have been completely unable to play ANY games on it at all due to the hardware problems and bluetooth issues. What is worse is the company’s attitude to their customers. The customer service might as well be non-existent. Emails to them just get ignored. I really wanted to love this product, but based on my experience of the product and the company it is difficult to even say a good word about them let alone recommend the Retroid Pocket 2 Plus. Based on my experiences I’d have to say avoid this at all costs. There are much safer bets out there.
